UK hosting renewal prices compared: what you pay after year one
SiteGround, Hostinger and Bluehost advertise a low first term and renew at up to five times the price. Our prices do not change at renewal. Sources and dates included.
The headline price on most hosting adverts is a first-term discount. To get it you usually pay one to four years in advance, and when that term ends the plan renews at the full rate, often several times what you signed up at.
We think UK buyers should see the renewal price before they commit, so here it is beside our own. We only list figures we read on each host's own pricing page, with the date we read them.
Introductory price, prepaid term and renewal price
| Host | Advertised price a month | Paid in advance | Renews at a month | Renewal ÷ advertised |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zinn Digital® | $1.99 | Nothing: pay monthly | The same price | 1× |
| SiteGround1 | €2.99 | 12 months | €15.99 | 5.3× |
| Hostinger2 | $2.99 | 48 months | $10.99 | 3.6× |
| Bluehost3 | $3.99 | 36 months | $9.99 | 2.5× |
Competitor prices are in the currency each host's page showed us and are not converted. Ours is our entry WordPress plan.

What this means for a UK site
If you plan to keep a site for more than a year, the renewal price matters more than the introductory one. Our plans are billed monthly or yearly at one price, with nothing to prepay to unlock it.
